Photography club, SONABYSS 2K21-22 aims at the upbringing of creativity of the person behind the lens. In this SONABYSS join us in the journey to find the best artist with a sensor and lens.No matter professional photographer or amateur photography enthusiast we welcome all with our open arms.
Landscape photography is the art of capturing pictures of nature and the outdoors in a way that brings your viewer into the scene. From grand landscapes to intimate details, the best photos demonstrate the photographer’s own connection to nature and capture the essence of the world around them.
Macro photography is the art of capturing the finest details in surrounding. From small insects to water droplet on grass anything can be captured under macro lens.
A photo becomes a portrait when the subject along with the background, lighting and emotion can evoke a sense of connection between the viewer and the portrait photograph. A candid photo is not considered a portrait, however, the most candid portraits are often the best.
For spot photography 10 participants will be selected based on the photos submitted on above mentioned categories. Participants will have to be present on the selected place at given time for the contest. Date, place and time will be mentioned later. There will be two winners for this category.
A ‘light painting’ is an image that is created by capturing a long exposure of a dark scene that contains a moving light source.Lower your shutter speed raise your imagination create the masterpiece.
For model photography 10 participants will be selected based on the photos submitted on above mentioned categories. Participants will have to be present on the selected place at given time for the contest. Date, place and time will be mentioned later. There will be two winners for this category.
“Wabi-sabi” is a Japanese term that essentially means finding beauty in imperfection. Wabi refers to the kind of beauty found in asymmetrical, uneven or unbalanced things.Sabi is the beauty of aged things and speaks to the impermanence of life through the passage of time. The participants will have to demonstrate “wabi-sabi” in the best manner through photography.

Sonabyss Idol is one of the best opportunities to let your inner superstar emerge! It is a solo event where you can sing either with live musical instruments or on a pre-recorded track of those. There will be two categories - one for performances in English and one in Hindi. It is an open event
As the name of the event aptly suggests, it is an epic battle amongst the best musical talents of NERIST! Musical bands of any genre are allowed. It is an open event.
It is a block event where each of the blocks are to send their best choirs forward to win the competition. It is compulsory for each block to have participants.

(*)No. Of Questions asked, marking scheme of each rounds and other rules will be disclosed during event only.
(*)If there is a tie, the teams with equal marks gets into Trivia round to create difference in marks.
(*)In case of any dispute, the decision taken by the Quiz master or the Quiz Organisers shall be considered final.
(*)No electronic gadgets or equipments are allowed during the event.
(*)Any kind of written or printed material will not be allowed.
(*)Any team found using unfair means shall be immediately disqualified.
(*)Organisers hold the right to make changes in the event structure during event.
Rapid Fire Round:—
—In this round, each team will be certain number of question one after another.
—On the immediate completion of a question, each team will get 5 sec to answer it.
—There will be no repetition of questions and no team discussion.
Buzzer Round:—
—Questions will be fired at all the teams one after another. The team that presses the buzzer/bell first gets a chance to answer it.
— If team doesn’t answer or give wrong answer after pressing the buzzer, they will be lose points.
Trivia Round:—
—Questions will be fired at all the teams one after another. Each question have four options A,B,C & D from which one will be correct.
Abbreviation Round:—
Questions in this round will have abbreviations and acronyms.
Current Affairs Round:—
In this round, all the questions will be from current affairs, covering all topics.
Sports Round:—
In this round, each team will be asked questions from sports section.

— In this round, each team will get to choice to choose any topics from the given topics and each team has its own quota of 4 questions from chosen topics.

On the unification of scores of like-minded and bright people coming from different parts of the
unique eight sister states and students from all over India, some of whom are misfits, some the

SONABYSS – the very word that symbolizes the magnanimous and multifaceted extravaganza associated
with our alma mater NERIST. It is an event that fills the heart of every NERISTIAN and other
institutes with a bottomless abyss of expectation, and the fun-filled 2 days and 3 nights of song,
dance, drama, exhibition, quiz, and many more, is the most eagerly awaited period by all students
as well as other people all around. On account of being the biggest and the most spectacular
cultural festival of Arunachal Pradesh, it provides a niche for the students at other colleges as well,
to showcase their talents through a host of events which has become synonymous with this
ultimate showdown.
Innovated in the year 1987, with a vision to nurture creativity and provide recreation to the students
of NERIST, the Recreational & Creative Activities Forum (RACAF) has logged a long journey
of 34 glorious years of its presence.This SONABYSS'21 is going to organize in newly inaugurated silver jubilee hall for the first time in NERIST. The stage will be surrounded by stalls of different sponsors as well as
exhibitions from different clubs.
The exquisite and exponentially energetic SONABYSS has advanced a long way over these years. It
has transcended every echelon of time and has become one of the major events organized by an
exceptional fraternity of the students of NERIST. So, have you ever wondered what it would be
like, had you just been a pawn in the game of life? – Where you are compelled to confront antagonizing
situations which happen to be beyond the maxima of your control, and you, you my friend
are provoked to survive. Hence, you endeavour to transcend and ameliorate the frontiers of your
limits so as to amplify your abilities of survival. We are filled with immense zeal and are vociferously
proud to annunciate that, this SONABYSS’21 is installed with the audacious theme of the
“Squid Games”, hinting at the supremely adventurous events waiting to be unfurled and presented
in front of all.
